"We want this to be quiet. This is a funeral procession." On the upcoming joint effort of many funeral home workers and Knoxville Right to Life for a funeral procession through downtown, as reported in Sat's Sentinel. I'm sure 30 hearses aren't going to attract any attention.

They want it to be quiet because they don't want to hear anything but what they believe. I won't be here that weekend so I can't protest but I hope some people show up and show the other side--women who died in abortions or childbirth, abandoned and abused children, women who lost children in accidents or miscarriage and don't wish to witness a public display of their grief. I always find it amazing that the born seem to be less valued than the unborn.

It sounds like a circus to me. Dying from backroom abortions is also a very serious matter.
I truly believe very, very few women have abortions lightly, and forcing women who don't want children to have them anyway is a fine way to bring more sadness and abuse into this world. I'd rather a zygote be gone, than to see a ten year old kid locked in a closet or an infant shaken to death.
These folks are just upset because they can't (yet) control every aspect of everyone else's lives (especially women's). Note only men quoted in the story. The fact that most of these folks are "pro-control", oops, I mean "pro-life" even in cases of rape, incest, and threat to the mother's life shows how little value they place on women OR children.

their standards since they are deathly afraid that those who are not living by their standards are having a hell of a lot more fun, and happier lives. They MUST control every aspect of everyone else's life because they cannot stand their own lives so much.

A few bloggers and I are organizing a blogswarm in response to the fake funeral. I would love to have you join us, posting about Factual information on maternal mortality.

That's good business for funeral homes.
