Carry a Big Stick

If you are around downtown or the mission district, watch out for a homeless man carrying a big pool-like stick. He was run off Market Square Sat. night after yelling racial slurs and threatening people with his stick. I nearly hit him on Broadway Sunday afternoon when he ran into traffic waving his stick. He has quite likely been picked up by now, but who knows for how long. He's probably the only homeless person I've ever found scary.

Unfortunately that is not the only scary homeless person I have heard of around town. My friend was recently attacked at 7:00PM on a Thursday on Summit Hill walking to the 100 Block from the Old City. It seems as progress continues in the area we are attracting more of the types of homeless that pose a threat.
This is another reason I believe we need more on foot police patrols in the Central City district. Not just during big events, but regularly. That's one of my ideas at least. I'm running for county commission to help all of those who live downtown, "homefull" and homeless alike.

There's also a fairly clean cut guy who panhandles with the angle that he's a soldier just back from Iraq but lacks any cash to get back home to Nashville (or maybe this part changes). He whips out a bunch of wrinkled papers that purport to be his military documents. Been around at least a few months.
Are you sure it wasn't one of the Guerrilla Gals?
The person you described sounds a lot like "Zee".
I guess those Hillary Groupies really are pissed.

Not so scary, but was convincing the first time.
