Cagle is worse than Michael Savage

Go to the metropulse.com and check out the tastless Ear. At best its silly gossip but at a painful time to publically put out stuff like this is gross. (joking about Sunshine Violations at TVUUC)

Yeah, it's a bit weird, but

Yeah, it's a bit weird, but it is interesting that there is a possibility that what was a relatively obscure place of worship could be a locus of political power. Still, maybe next week or next month it should have been pointed out, y'know. Good catch, Stacey.

Figures

That's the Right Wing for ya.

So far they either advocate this terrorist act, make jokes about it, excuses for it, or ignore it altogether.

And people thought I was over the top all these years comparing the Republican Right to Al Qaida and the Nazis. They are exactly what I've always said they are.

And full of inaccuracies....

I should be very clear on this. I only spoke to people for the first hour or two to quell inaccurate rumors about the number of deaths, and to let people with friends/family inside know the situation was under control and that the shooter had been apprehended. Once the police made their statement, I was trying to follow our minister's order to black out the media. I knew about the second death well in advance, but tried to stop the rumors until the official press release.

When the rumors came about the shooter's motive, I called WNOX only to suggest that the media not speculate until more facts are known. I tried to say nothing more and get off the phone after making that point.

Once the story of the shooter's letter came to light, I felt compelled to break the embargo with one MSNBC reporter to focus people away from the story, defuse a volatile situation, and try to better represent what our church stands for.

Extensive interviews my hiney. And the photo I provided was of the suspect in the cruiser.

But, in the rush of sensationalism, a lot of stories were wrong. Heck, I was wrong about the hair length because the guy was slumped over.

How does

Stacey know that Cagle wrote this particular Ear. There are mutliple authors of Ear, including the ole' Beanster.

The ole Beanster hasn't written Ear to the Ground in years. Not that there's anything wrong with writing Ear.

more hate crimes

No one is born racist or sexist or hating other groups of people. They learn it from others. Like media people who get wide distribution via radio and TV, etc.

We've been hearing Latinos getting hammered from the right wing nuts for some time by the usual suspects. Well, here's the results! Hope you haters are happy.

I thought Rose Kennedy and Jack Neely wrote excellent pieces on Sunday's ordeal and the Huffington Post excerpt is interesting. Normally I enjoy Cagle's column with his name on it, but for a couple of years Ear has been printing lies, case in point, that Sylvia Woods shut down the Democratic Headquarters. Someone probably told him that and it sounded too good to verify.
Like with Jamie Satterfield, sometimes tastlessness goes to far. Gallows humor is present in newsrooms, its just usually not printed. All that said, three Unitarians on Knox Co. Commission would be interesting, just like Cedar Springs is a Republican bastian (Russell Biven noted he and Bill Haslam both lefty that church to go to TVUUC.)I thought all those who did interviews represented the South well, usually a disaster in the South brings out the rednecks.
I'm also super impressed that one of those reaching out is a Baptist church, First Baptist is moderate to liberal as far as Baptists go, but for a Baptist church, like ones I've attended, I doubt they would publically embrace non-Christians in a service.

All that said, three

All that said, three Unitarians on Knox Co. Commission would be interesting

Why? Who the heck cares what, if any, religion, County Commissioners practice.

BTW, Unitarians on County Commission aren't anything new. Ask Bee DeSelm.

Rose Kennedy's piece in

Rose Kennedy's piece in Metro Pulse was wonderful. It brought tears to my eyes once again.

I forwarded Rose's article

I forwarded Rose's article all around the country to concerned ex-pat's.

Beautiful article.

religion

Rachel none of this is about you, why so snarky, the reason it would be interesting to have 3 Unitarians on commission is because our leadership in this region is overwhelmingly evangelical Republican, it matters when the religion is part of the way you govern.
